Delicious cake, with a different taste. The whiskey definately added a nice twist. After a day or two in the fridge it reminded me little of biscotti. Wonderful with a cup of tea. Will be making this often.
When I first read it I knew I had to try this. And I finally did. Very good and unusual cake! I also baked it in mini loaf pans and they are so pretty. I will make again in the future thats for sure! Thanks!
I made only two changes--used orange rind instead of lemon rind and added raisins. After reading Thorsten's review, I baked mine in mini loaf pans--result was two pretty little loaves which sliced like bread. Lovely flavor and scent. Thanks, Nan!
A cake full of whiskey and lemon flavors. Delicious. And easy to make too. Just follow the directions. The cake will not rise that much in the oven and has more the consistency of a short bread. This is just the cake for an afternoon tea or coffee. Also great with a glas of milk. The flavors of lemon and whiskey were well blended and are a great combination of freshness and the delicate touch of alcohol. Relax and enjoy it with a cup of tea and you will feel like sitting in the cottage somewhere in the romantic green landscape of Ireland. Thanks for this unusual and delicious cake.
