I forgot to rate this recipe so this review is to add the stars. I have made this 2 days in a row it was so very nice. I used packet vanilla sugar (quite a bit, like 1 tablespoon) on top and sprinkled with cinnamon, my husband , a man of few words, who usually says everything is "Good' when I ask how it was, emphatically said this was "Delicious!!!"people found this review Helpful. Now this is what I call a torte!! This is super easy and a great blend of flavors - not too sweet as well. I used homemade canned plums ("Spiced Italian Plums (Prunes) in Port")which held up quite nicely. I took the syrup from the canned plums, added some corn starch thickening it up to use as a syrup to drizzle on top. The only change I will make to this is to pack in as many plums as I can. Thank you, thank you, thank you Cheesehead! This was wonderful, what a great recipe. This delicious dish was quick and easy to make and it tasted just out of this world.
