My grandma used to make these for me all the time when I was little...now I make them for my kids. This a wonderful, quick bar cookie that isn't too sweet!
- Mix all ingredients together -- my grandma wasn't fancy --
- Put it in a 9x9 square pan for thick cookies or a 9x13 for thinner cookies.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
This is really a good recipe. Seems like the fewer the ingredients the better sometimes. I used butter instead of shortening and added 1 tsp. of vanilla. Put it into an 8 x 8 square pan and baked it for 20 minutes. Very moist and chewy. I will make this again.
Made these on a snow day off from school. So tasty, easy and delicious! I will make these again.
good recipe. thank you. didn't use an egg - used a flax/chia "egg" instead. and used grapeseed oil for the fat. loved it :)
