  • Mix all the dry ingredients together: baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and salt.
  • Blend together the sugar, shortening, egg and molasses and pour into dry ingredients, mix well and form into balls. Press down to 1/2 inches, sprinkle sugar on top. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes until starts to crack on top.
