Garlic Cheese Quick Bread

"Found this recipe in Taste of Home when looking for a fast bread to serve with dinner. My husband thought it tasted kinda sweet, and I was expecting it to taste the garlic more, but we both thought it was good. As with most quick breads I think this tastes better after it cools, however it does not stay fresh for more than a day or two so eat it quick! The original recipe called for self rising flour, which I never have on hand, so I just used regular flour and added the baking powder and salt...so it can be made using self rising flour--just don't add the baking powder and salt."

 1. Very good quick bread; nice garlic taste! I used 3 cups self rising flour & omitted the baking powder & salt.
Update: this bread also makes great croutons for salad! Cut into cubes, place on baking sheet, spray w/oil & toast for approx. 40 min at 200 degrees.

 2. I have this in the oven right now and it smells divine! Used a garlic seasoning mix and that is the only change I made. If it tastes as good as it smells, I will be ever so happy! If it doesn't I will be back to alter my review.

 3. This bread is super easy and really good!! I followed the directions but added a 1/2 tsp extra of garlic powder. My husband and son loved it, and we look forward to making it again soon. Thanks for posting the recipe!

 4. This bread is delicious. We had it with butter on and garlic soup. I did have to make a couple of alterations as the comments said it was not very strong in garlic taste so I added an extra tsp and I also added 1tsp mix herbs as our family loves herb bread. The mixture was a little dry so I needed to add a little bit of extra milk. Other than the additions I decided to make myself this was a quick and delicious bread. Before cooking in the oven I added a sprinkling of cheese and sesame seeds to the top which my family commented on how tasty the crust was.
Thanks for this recipe, I will definitely be making it again!
