Would love it give this 5 or more stars, but because I SCREWED up so bad, I don't know what they really taste like. Anyway they did taste good. Nice and chewy and best of all fudgy. Will make them again when we get back. The RIGHT WAY! They are good.

I made this delectable dessert as a bar rather than as a cookie, but I wasn't sure how much time I should of baked this in the oven. Well, I seemed to of over baked the bars, the bottom and sides the the bars were a bit hard, so the next time I decide to make these again, I won't bake them as long, and I will edit my review and rate this recipe with stars. One thing I did as another reviewer had done, was to top the bars w/chocolate chips after I took them out of the oven, then I placed them back in the oven for 1 minute, so the chips would melt and make an icing ontop. I also topped the pan with 20 pecan halves, and later cut them bars into 20 bars. This recipe certainly does have an intense chocolate flavor, which makes the cookies/bars quite rich, but I look forward to making them again in the near future.

YOWZA, truly for those who need a chocolate fix! Very good. I used the double boiler method to melt the chocolate chips and topped w/ pecan halves because I want the kids to eat all these so I don't make pig out of myself! Once the dough cools, using a cookie scoop is easy. They don't spread that much so they can be plopped close together for baking. *do not be tempted to add to the baking time. They will firm up. Also, avoid using a dark baking sheet & the lower oven rack. I used parchment paper and one batch was over done. Made in memory of MEP. RIP. Thanks to your mom, wherever she may be, for this fab recipe!

Oh these are so fudgy and yummy. If that weren't enough they are sooo easy! If you are really lazy, you could just eat them out of the bowl, with no eggs they won't make you sick (unless you eat the whole thing!) I baked mine in a pan and cut them into bars as suggested. My dough was very stiff, unlike some. I did add all the chocolate chips and melt them. Since I used margarine, I omitted the salt. I used bittersweet chips, too. MMMMM Made in memory of MEP Rest in Peace

This was a quick,EASY recipe. After reading the other reviews, I added 1/2c. more flour. I put it in a 9x13 pan, and then cut into bars. I didn't add pecans b/c of my family, but I know that would've made it EVEN BETTER. These are definitely the thing for a quick, chocolate fix!! RIP MEP.

These cookies were very easy to do. But I still managed to mess them up. First I added all the chips. I knew then that the one cup of flour was not enough to make drop cookies, so I spead the mixture in a 9x11 pan and baked them like that. They turned out nice and chewy. I omitted the nuts. Kids don't like nuts in stuff. These cookies are wonderful for a quick fix when you must have chocolate! RIP MEP.

I've made these twice now, and each time my friends and family gobble them down. They're rich and easy to make and I personally love them. I had to let the batter/dough sit for a few minutes, and when I came back, I was able to roll it into balls - way less messy. I bake them just until the tops look dry - then they're perfect. Thanks for a great recipe!

I'm sorry, but I had a huge problem with the dough. I followed directioins exactly, ingredients, etc. When done, the dough was way to runny for drop cookies as I had hoped for like your instructions in step 6. I probably should have spread them as brownies instead.

These are a chocoholics dream, very rich, dense and chocolate! Really easy to make too! I used the microwave to melt the chocolate chips and butter and then just mixed everything in the same bowl. I made these nut-free and baked them in a 9x13 pan instead of as cookies (sorry, I got lazy at the last minute). I had to bake them 4-5 minutes longer because I did this. When they were done I put some extra chocolate chips on top and put them back in for a minute to melt and then spread it like an icing. Very good and easy recipe, Mep, thanks for sharing it.

Very fudgy and chocolaty, especially if you goof up like I did and accidentally melt all the chips . The chocoholics in my house didn't care. They vanished pretty quickly.

These were just wonderful Mep. I made these today and my DS came over with his friend and polished them off! I made mine with my homemade sweetended condensed milk, and used 1-1/2 cups chocolate chips to melt and added mini chocolate chips instead of the nuts to the batter..delicious cookie, I will be making these again, and next time I will hide some for myself LOL! thanks for posting...Kitten :)

I made these for some teachers, not a fair guide, they eat anything. I used 1-1/2 cup chips to melt then 1/2 cup chips to add. They were loved by all and had several request for the receipe

Myrna2, I'm sure it wasn;t your fault that you screwed up - I kind of screwed up the recipe when I submitted it. My mom wrote "1/2 cup chopped pecans" and then...(instead of these nuts, I put in an additional 1/2 cup chocolate chips)" That could be the problem - me!
