this was pretty good. I made twice the amount of topping and tried to put a layer in the middle, but it just melded into the rest of the cake and made it really sweet. Next time I'd stick to just it being the topping and then it wouldn't be quite so sweet. Overall, a nice coffee cake and I like that it's a smaller size...great for 2 people to enjoy with leftovers, (but not an overwhelming amount of cake left over!)

*Made for Australia/NZ Swap #37* A very nice coffee cake, if a tad sweet -- and I did use less than 1/2 cup sugar. Had an interesting encounter with the Topping. Likely had more than 2 Tbsp. butter, (just swiped a dollop, and didn't add the nuts (personal preference). The topping was more pasty than granular when I scooped in on top. It melted through the batter and formed a brown sugar crust on the bottom. Unusual, but nice outcome. Thanks for posting, FrenchBunny.

This might be an "oldie" but it's still a GOODIE!!! Great coffee cake FrenchBunny! So simple to put together, and stays moist and delicious! I made this to take to my elderly parents, both of them just loved it! They had a couple friends for coffee and shared it with them as well. A very nice treat for all of them! Thank you for posting!
