This was wonderful! I followed the recipe exactly and I had no problems whatsoever with a soda taste. I found it to be getting quite brown around the 1/2 hour mark so I covered with foil until the hour was up. I really hesitated to take a star away, as this was moist & delicious, but I did because I got only 1, not 2 loaves from this recipe???? I had two loaf pans all ready to go but when I went to divide the batter there was just no way...it filled one pan nicely. This recipe otherwise would have gotten 5 stars from me all the way and I will certainly still be making this again & again...just will double in the future if I want more than one loaf! Thanks:)

Lovely banana flavor. I took Jan T advice and only used 1/4 tsp of baking soda and it came out fine. The sour cream is what gives this loaf its great taste. Will make this again with nut and chocolate chips.

The texture of the cake turns out great, soft and light but there seems to be abit of soda taste when eaten, maybe should just use 1/2 tsp soda instead, will try again.

SooooooGood!!! I thought I had a good banana bread recipe, but this is better, very moist and light, must be the sour cream. Not at all difficult to make. Baked it in a Bundt pan(looked a little more fancy)served it plain with some ice cream. My significant other also commented that it was very light. Thanks City Gurl!!!

This by far the best banana bread I have ever tasted. I made it for a friend with chocolate chips and it was even better. I like this recipe cause it does make 2 loaves I can make one for me and one for a friend! Thanks again

According to my banana bread connoisseur son, this is indeed one of the best banana breads he has ever had! Very moist and delicious. The only issue I has was I felt the batter looked like a lot and put it in my larger 9-inch loaf pans. I should have used my 8-inch though as the loaves were rather short. I appreciate you posting this excellent recipe! Made for the Taste of Yellow 2009 event in the photo forum.

I doubled the recipe, got 2 loaves and one bundt pan. It rose nicely in the oven, but fell a bit upon cooling. It was still one of the best banana breads I've had. Took one loaf to work and it was gone before I knew it. Out of the 3 total cups of sugar I used 1 cup (unpacked) brown sugar and 2 cups white. Had a heaping 2 cups banana, probably closer to 2 1/2. Very moist and wonderful banana flavor.

This bread has great banana flavor and it is very moist. Instead of two loaf pans, I used one and baked the bread for an additional 20 minutes. It turned out great.

I made mine in a 10 cup bundt pan. Turned out quite nice, the most you will get is 2 medium loaf pans,or 3 small.
