    Ingredients:

    Serves: 8

    Yield:

    Directions:

    1. 1
      Peel, core and slice apples. (You should have about 6 cups.)
    2. 2
      Mix together the next 3 ingredients and toss in with the apples.

      Place into prepared pastry.
    4. 4
      In a separate bowl, mix remaining flour and brown sugar well.
    5. 5
      Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    6. 6
      Stir in nuts.
    7. 7
      Sprinkle over apples.
    8. 8
      Bake at 375°F for 35-45 minutes. Crust will be lightly brown.

      Remove from oven and place on a wire rack.
    10. 10
      Drizzle caramel topping over the top and cool completely.

      Serve with your favorite vanilla ice cream or whip cream. Yum!

      Great pie! I couldn't find Jonathan apples, so I used Granny Smith. Love the crumb topping! I used gluten-free oat flour and a gluten-free pie crust.
